Below you will find a list of books to help you on your journey to a more sustainable way of life.

Ecoholic: Adria Vasil

This book is an amazing resource, and the title really says it all  “Your Guide to the MOST environmentally friendly information, products, and services”.  I would recommend this book to anyone who is interested in looking for ways, big and small, to lessen their impact on the planet.  From what you eat, to what you wear, how you travel, to larger issues at hand, this is a wonderful book that not only has the information but is the complete package with beautiful illustrations throughout.  It also has a city-by-city resource guide, with a plethora of links.  I find that its a great coffee book table, try leaving it out next time you have company, its guaranteed to spark some interest and conversation.

Brave New World : Aldous Huxley

This book, in particular for me, is a cold glimpse in into the consumer driven, product pushing society that we are live in and are a part of, especially western society.  I really feel its worth a read, and will get your wheels turning, not all endings need to be tragic.

David Suzuki’s Green Guide

“A practical guide to reducing your ecological footprint from the man”. Lets face it, we are all pretty aware of David Suzuki’s awesomeness, he really is an global iconic figure.  This is just one of the many books that I would recommend.  This is a great guide to empower us as individuals to bring about and inspire change.

Animal, Vegetable, Miracle: Barbara Kingsolver

I actually had the pleasure of hearing Barbara speak on a boo tour.  Just as she was in person, the book was a delightful read.  It is a book about a family’s year long journey into growing, harvesting, raising their food, and eating locally.  We all may not be lucky enough to live in a climate, or own the land to grow and raise our own food, but it inspires you to want to do what you can, within your means to make a difference.
