This blog is just about welcoming in the summertime goodies at the Market.  Even larger grocery chains clearly mark and advertise local produce and products.  Today I went to a market a few blocks away from where i live, and i got some yummy local beets, zucchini, carrots, raspberries(only 99 cents! what so amazing is that, one they are locally grown, but they are not shipped all the way from the US at a cost of $4 or $5).  They are so sweet and delicious.

In other news, I am pleased to say that I sold my car today, previously it was sitting in a parking spot, I never used it, nor did i want to.  I love the city of Montreal, I can walk, bike, or take public transit anywhere, and its way more time efficient as well.  Last week my friend shared her friends weekly Farmers vegetable basket with me.  It has fresh, local, raspberries, kale, yellow zucchini, chives, lettuce, cucumbers, and tomatoes.  I guess every year you sign up to get your fruits and veggies from the same farmer each week.  It was lovely to see the line up of people who subscribe to this service (details to come). To relate back to this post, the reason I walked over to a small market by my house was to see if I could get the same local products, and mission accomplished.

If you don’t have plans for the weekend, head to your local farmers market to see what goodies you can discover.

Have a lovely sustainable day.
