This highly acclaimed documentary is now available to view online on CBC’s The Passionate Eye. It largely deals with American content but is just as applicable to what is happening on our own soil. Something that seems so basic, such as knowing where your food comes from has been lost. We consume without question, and have been programmed to eat according to price, ignoring the consequences to follow. This film helps you take a step back to see the damage of what not knowing has created, as well as brings home that fact that instead of feeling helpless, you can be an empowered consumer. Eat locally, read labels, and pay attention to where your food comes from. If you can’t afford to buy locally and organically, use your voice instead, speak out not just as an individual, but as a community, write a letter to your local representative. Do what you can, become an empowered consumer.
