Tired of all those Christmas flyers ending up in your recycle bin? I thought so, why not give your colorful paper friends a re-use and make my “recycla-bow” to spruce up any gift! Check out the side show for guided picture instructions.
Step One: You will need a pair of scissors, some flyers, a stapler and some tape. * Also if you have a staple-free stapler, use that to cut down on waste (you can get them in specialty trinket shops, craft stores, etc…)
Step 2: Remove one flyer sheet (2 connected pages) * choose a page with lots of color
Step 3: Now cut chunky strips (or thin depending on how you want your finished product to look) * Be sure to leave about 1/2 cm in the middle, also I just eye ball the strips to line up on each side
Step 4: Begin to fold over both side of the strips * Be sure to fold it so that the design you want to be shown is facing outwards
Step 5: Fold each bow (2 strips) and staple to one side
Step 6: Repeat all the way down your flyer
Step 7: Repeat with another flyer (now you will have two seperate bows)
Step 8: Combine two Recycla-bows, fold to one side and secure with tape
Step 9: Open like a flower, and shabam! you have yourself a beautiful bow
Step 10: Secure with tape of ribbon, or a scrap piece of yarn to your gift box. Enjoy!
