Welcome to sustainatarian.ca, it is in the midst of a revitalization, so lots of changes are going on, so please have patience. This site is a blog, that one day hopes to become something much bigger.
I just want to spread awareness, and hopefully enlighten, and more importantly be enlightened, on how to make a difference and live more sustainably. From driving less, to reusable bags, to supporting local farmers and ones own community, it doesn’t take much to do our part.
Take a moment to look around you. Do you know who made what you are wearing? Or where it came from? Do you think about where your garbage goes once it leaves your hand? Have you ever starred at your food as asked yourself how many miles it’s traveled before it reached your plate? When you walk into a grocery store have you ever found yourself disappointed that your favorite food is out of stock? I can’t speak for everyone, but our (Western culture) society tends to take all of our resources for granted. People think water is best served in plastic bottles and chicken wrapped in plastic is sealed in freshness. There is a huge disconnect that exists in today’s society, it is this disconnect I wish to speak to. I want to try and keep things short and simple for now, and expand a long the way.
Have a lovely sustainable day.
